What is a CIMA®?
Since 1988, the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA®) has been offering the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation to seasoned financial specialists who have successfully completed the extensive CIMA program of study. Article About the CIMA®.
Candidates for this certification go through a rigorous admissions process and must have three years of professional investment management experience under their belts.
Developed by faculty from some of the nation’s leading business schools, the graduate level CIMA curriculum incorporates the following topics:
- Legal and regulatory environment
- Investment policy
- Asset allocation
- Efficient asset selection
- Measuring return on a portfolio
- Risk management
- Manager selection and due diligence
- Performance measurement and attribution
- Historical returns
- International financial markets
- Alternate investments
- Tax efficiency
